Newport News Fire Station 11

The City of Newport News is seeking bids for the construction of a new fire station, Fire Station 11. The project includes the construction of a one-story building with a mezzanine, approximately 17,825 square feet in size, and designed to achieve a LEED certification. The scope of work includes site preparation, excavation, foundation work, structural construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations, and finishing work. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations. • The project is expected to be completed within 425 days. • The contractor will be required to provide a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid price. • The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any minor non-substantive errors in the bid. • The contractor will be required to provide proof of insurance and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. • The city encourages subcontracting opportunities to SWaM businesses. • The contractor will be required to provide a list of construction equipment available for the proposed work. • The contractor will be required to provide references for similar projects completed in the past three years.
