Description
This solicitation seeks qualified contractors to perform a comprehensive upgrade of the electrical distribution system, generator, and switchgear at the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden, NY. The work includes installation of new 13.2 kV ductbanks, construction of a generator building, installation of high‑voltage switchgear, extensive utility relocation, civil site work, HVAC modifications, hazardous‑material removal, and compliance with a broad array of New York State building, fire, mechanical, and energy codes. The project also imposes strict outage constraints (maximum four‑hour shutdowns) and specific night‑time windows for power interruptions.
• Electrical scope: new 13.2 kV distribution, switchgear room, generator dock, ductbank excavation, concrete work, grounding, and high‑voltage signage.
• Civil & utility scope: full‑depth asphalt removal, utility relocation (electric, water, gas, telecom), site grading, foundations, and hazardous‑material remediation.
• HVAC & mechanical scope: generator building ventilation, fuel‑oil storage, exhaust fans, and related mechanical systems.
• Compliance & safety: adherence to NYS 2020 Building, Fire, Mechanical, Plumbing, Energy, and Uniform Codes; detailed site‑security coordination; storm‑water pollution prevention plan; and limited power‑outage windows.
