Designer Selection for the Design & Construction of Municipal Workforce Housing

The Town of Nantucket is seeking a designer to provide professional architectural and engineering services for the planning and design of municipal workforce housing. The project will be delivered via Modular Procurement, and the designer will be responsible for providing a basis of design for the Modular Design-Builder, as well as periodic review of the Design-Build process. The scope of services includes programming, site evaluation, schematic design, design development, permitting, and construction administration. The designer will work in coordination with the Town and the Owner’s Project Manager to evaluate Town-owned parcels and develop a feasible, cost-effective, and phased housing solution. • The project will address the island’s critical need for year-round workforce housing. • The proposed development will consist of multiple residential units in a coordinated site layout incorporating shared amenities, open space, pedestrian circulation, and required parking. • The designer shall demonstrate the ability to deliver services in a coordinated and timely manner to meet the Town’s planning, regulatory, and approval milestones. • The designer shall provide all investigative, design, coordination, and documentation services reasonably necessary to meet the project objectives. • The designer shall coordinate closely with the Owner’s Project Manager, Town staff, and regulatory agencies throughout the Project.
