Sharps Pickup and Disposal - VA Loma Linda Health Care Systems

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a vendor to provide sharps pickup and disposal services for the VA Loma Linda Health Care Systems. The contract is for a period of one year, with no options. The vendor will be required to service all locations on a weekly basis. A site visit is highly recommended for interested vendors to understand the contract scope. The vendor will also be required to provide annual training for VA staff members. • The contract includes the pickup and disposal of sharps containers, as well as the exchange of internal holding containers. • The vendor will be required to transport, treat, and dispose of contents removed from Government-furnished Cactus Sink narcotic-waste containers. • The contract includes the provision of reusable sharps containers and disposable sharps containers. • The vendor will be required to provide lab-packing, consolidation, and repackaging services for hazardous pharmaceutical waste. • The contract includes the requirement for witnessed destruction, manifest, and certificate requirements for the disposal of hazardous waste.
