Description
The Cecil County Courthouse Elevator Renovation project calls for the complete modernization of two existing passenger elevators located in the historic 1938 and 1965 wings of the courthouse. Work includes removal of existing hoist‑way equipment, replacement of elevator cars, doors, controls, wiring, and machine‑room equipment, and construction of two new machine rooms in the penthouse levels above each hoist way. The scope excludes the 2014 addition elevator. The contractor must coordinate construction activities to maintain 24/7 courthouse operations, manage utility continuity, and comply with life‑safety, fire‑protection, and accessibility codes. Submissions are due Oct 1 2026; the award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
