Description

The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command - Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM CBC) is seeking information on technologies and strategies for neutralizing toxic industrial chemicals (TICs). The goal is to reduce the operational risk associated with selected TICs/Chemicals of Security Concern (COSC) using methods such as neutralization, reduction in toxicity, reduction in disseminability, or other reactive or passive technological applications. Key aspects of the project include: • Reducing toxicity by 50% or more • Reducing disseminability by transforming the TIC into a non-aerosolizable liquid or gel • Reducing vapor pressure by 50% or more • Achieving a volatility reduction of 50% or more The ideal solution should be scalable, have a low system size, and require minimal reactants. Responses should include a brief description of the proposed technology, its technical parameters, and any relevant past performance.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $5,000,000

Given the nature of the project, which involves developing and testing technologies for neutralizing toxic industrial chemicals, the budget is likely to be substantial. However, since this is a Request for Information and not a solicitation for a contract, no specific budget amount is mentioned. A rough estimate for a potential contract award could be in the range of $500,000 to $5 million, considering the complexity of the project, the need for scalability, and the potential risks involved. Factors influencing the likely payment range include the level of technical maturity, the effectiveness of the proposed solution, and the ability to meet the performance goals outlined in the RFI.
