Description

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to negotiate and award a firm fixed price purchase order to OptimERA Marine for the purchase of specialized Scanmar acoustic sensors and supporting hardware. The equipment includes one TrawlEye-NB system, one Flowsensor HC4-TSS, one SS4 Depth/Temperature sensor, and four SS4 Door/Clump sensors, along with associated mounting and charging kits. The sensors are utilized on the NOAA vessel Henry B. Bigelow and Pisces to facilitate the ESB Bottom Trawl Surveys. The required supplies must be compatible in all aspects with existing systems and equipment. • The TrawlEye-NB system provides real-time data on trawl opening height, headline-to-bottom distance, and bottom contact/clearance. • The Flowsensor HC4-TSS measures both TrawlSpeed and Symmetry. • The SS4 sensors monitor door distance, depth, and angle, and provide high-accuracy sinking speed and depth data. • The QBC-X1 Programming Unit/Charger provides rapid charging for all SS4 sensors and acts as the primary interface for programming sensor power levels, transmission frequencies, and update rates.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000, considering the specialized nature of the equipment and the fact that it is a sole source procurement. The exact amount will depend on the prices quoted by OptimERA Marine and the negotiations with NOAA. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the equipment, the production costs, and the market prices of similar products.
