Description
The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services is seeking a medical consultant to provide services for the Occupational Health Unit. The consultant will be responsible for providing medical oversight, professional consultation, and emergency on-call consultation. The contract will be for a period of three years with one two-year option. The consultant must have experience in occupational health, internal medicine, infectious disease control, and opioid overdose response programs.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing direct consultation for the Occupational Health Unit
• Writing standing orders and prescriptions
• Overseeing the Employee Respiratory Protection Program
• Conducting employee training
• Testifying at hearings
The consultant must also have a valid DEA registration and be certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
