Town of Oxford Test Wells

The Town of Oxford is seeking bids for the construction of a new well located on the Town's maintenance property, which will access the Magothy aquifer for water testing and possible future conversion to a production well. The project includes the construction of the well, geophysical logging, well development, and pumping tests. The contractor will be responsible for collecting and analyzing water samples, and for disposing of excess soil, drilling mud, and debris. The project requires compliance with American Iron and Steel requirements and other regulations. Some key features of the project include: • Construction of a new well with a steel casing and a keyed lockable cap • Geophysical logging to select the length and vertical positioning of the well screen • Well development to achieve an apparent yield of 150-200 gpm or greater • Pumping tests, including a step-drawdown test and a 72-hour constant-rate pumping test • Water quality sampling and analysis during the pumping tests • Disposal of excess soil, drilling mud, and debris, and restoration of the site to its prior condition
