Request For Letters of Interest - Professional Construction and Dredging Services for Lake Bonnet Drainage Basin Flood Hazard and Debris Mitigation Project

The City of Lakeland is seeking letters of interest from qualified contractors to provide professional construction and dredging services for the Lake Bonnet Drainage Basin Flood Hazard and Debris Mitigation Project. The project aims to mitigate downstream flooding and improve conveyance control by expanding the storage volume of the lake and constructing/improving infrastructure. The scope of work includes construction and modification of flood mitigation infrastructure, hydraulic dredging of Lake Bonnet, and mechanical dredging of the associated canal. The selected contractor will enter into a construction agreement with the City. Key requirements include having an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) at or below 1, at least 5 years of experience in the project work category, and being a registered contractor in the State of Florida. • The project is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) program. • The project involves the construction and modification of flood mitigation infrastructure, including pump station construction, culvert improvements, and sluice gate modifications. • The project also involves hydraulic dredging of Lake Bonnet and mechanical dredging of the associated canal. • The contractor will be required to comply with all Federal, State, and local laws, rules, regulations, ordinances, and executive orders. • The contractor will be required to provide a letter of introduction, detailed resumes, and required forms as part of their letter of interest submission.
