Description

NASA is soliciting information from potential sources for Earth Independent Operations Partnerships in Anomaly. The agency is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, including small businesses and historically black colleges and universities, to determine the appropriate level of competition and small business subcontracting goals. The Request for Information (RFI) focuses on the Anomaly Response portfolio, which aims to develop technologies to support crew-led diagnostics and response planning for anomalies in space missions. The RFI targets technologies in anomaly detection, diagnostics, feature engineering, procedure synthesis, and crew decision support. Respondents are encouraged to provide information on their capabilities, maturity level, and proposed approach to Earth Independent Operations. • The RFI is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. • Responses are limited to 10 pages in length and must be submitted electronically. • The submission deadline is February 18, 2026. • NASA welcomes information on technologies, methods, and facilities that enable the objectives of the Anomaly Response portfolio. • Respondents are encouraged to describe how their work advances the state-of-the-art and addresses the challenges identified in the objectives.

Budget estimate

$10,000,000 – $50,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as it is a Request for Information (RFI) and not a solicitation for a specific contract. However, based on the scope of the RFI and the potential applications of the technologies being sought, it is possible that any future contracts related to this opportunity could be worth tens of millions of dollars. The development of anomaly response technologies for Earth Independent Operations could require significant investment in research and development, testing, and implementation. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the technologies being developed, the scope of the contract, and the number of contractors involved.
