Colonial Avenue Sewer Separation

The City of Alexandria is seeking bids for a sewer separation project on Colonial Avenue. The work encompasses installation and replacement of sanitary sewer pipe, disconnection from a combined sewer system, and construction of new and existing manholes. This project addresses critical infrastructure upgrades to improve water quality and compliance. • Install 192 ft of 12‑inch SDR 26 PVC sanitary sewer pipe with steel casing on N Henry Street using jack‑and‑bore methods. • Replace 351 ft of 12‑inch reinforced concrete pipe with new 12‑inch SDR 26 PVC pipe on Vernon Street. • Disconnect the existing combined sewer at Colonial Avenue & Vernon Street and connect two existing manholes with new sanitary sewer. • Install two new sanitary manholes of differing sizes and tie into the system.
