Description
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking law firms to provide medical malpractice defense counsel services. The selected law firms will represent the Commonwealth in defending complex medical malpractice claims involving healthcare providers and facilities. The scope of work includes case evaluation, development of defense strategies, coordination of medical experts, management of discovery, motion practice, and trial representation. The law firms must demonstrate substantial experience in medical malpractice defense, including jury trial experience, and significant experience with Pennsylvania state and federal courts.
• The law firms must have expertise in defending nursing home and correctional care claims.
• The law firms must have a stable of expert witnesses with experience in nursing home and correctional care.
• The law firms must have knowledge of CMS regulations and guidance.
• The law firms must have experience handling Department of Health investigations and survey citations.
• The law firms must have experience enforcing arbitration agreements.
