Department of Defense HIV/AIDS Prevention Program

The Department of Defense HIV/AIDS Prevention Program aims to save lives, prevent HIV infections, and accelerate progress toward achieving HIV/AIDS epidemic control. The program works with militaries of foreign countries to devise plans based on the country's need for prevention, care, and/or treatment of its HIV/AIDS situation. Priorities for the program include support and ownership from the military sector, development of plans of action and support for military policies, alignment with PEPFAR and national strategies, and testing and treatment expansion to meet specific goals.
