Third Generation Forward Looking Infrared (3GEN FLIR) B-Kit

The US Army is conducting market research for the Third Generation Forward Looking Infrared (3GEN FLIR) B-Kit. The B-Kit is a set of common assemblies that provide the ability to detect threats at greater distances under various conflict and battlefield conditions. The Army is seeking information from potential sources that can manufacture and deliver the 3GEN FLIR B-Kit, as well as provide innovative acquisition strategies and business models to reduce the Government's total lifecycle cost. The RFI has three objectives: to identify potential sources, to assess innovative acquisition strategies, and to identify potential second-source providers. Respondents are requested to provide information on their company capabilities, production and manufacturing approach, and strategic sourcing and cost reduction approach. Key points to consider: • The 3GEN FLIR B-Kit comprises a set of common assemblies, including the Dewar Cooler Bench (DCB), optics, and circuit card assemblies (CCAs). • The B-Kit is integrated into the Thermal Receiver Unit (TRU) as a sub-assembly. • The Army is seeking information on potential sources' capabilities to manufacture and deliver the 3GEN FLIR B-Kit. • The RFI is intended to gather information to inform a follow-on acquisition strategy for both Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and Full Rate Production (FRP) quantities. • Respondents are requested to provide information on their company capabilities, production and manufacturing approach, and strategic sourcing and cost reduction approach.
