Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking interested professional paint contractors to prepare, remove paint, and repaint the existing ASDE tower and shelters at the Denver International Airport in Denver, CO. The contractor will provide labor, materials, travel, permits/application fees, mobilization costs, and tools for technicians to travel to the site. The tower and shelters will be painted with a two-component polysiloxane paint or an equivalent, and the color scheme will be in accordance with FAA AC 70/7460-1M: Obstruction Marking and Lights. The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local ordinances, regulations, and requirements pertaining to LBP removal, storage, transportation, and disposal of the LBP abatement work areas.
Some key requirements of the project include:
• The contractor must be a current QP-2 certificate holder recognized by the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC).
• The contractor must provide proof of past performance and experience in similar projects.
• The contractor must submit a work plan narrative and notional schedule within 10 business days of contract award.
• The contractor must provide a safety plan for working aloft and ensure that all work is performed in a professional and safe manner.
• The contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to lead-based paint removal and disposal.
