Description
The US Air Force is seeking a contractor to repair the sewer lift station at Building 509 on Joint Base Charleston Air Base, South Carolina. The project includes replacement of standpipes, bases, and guide rails at four pumps. The contractor will be required to perform OSHA Permitted Confined Space Entry (CSE) and provide all necessary equipment and labor. The solicitation is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products or commercial services prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12.
Some key points of the project include:
• Set-up to perform OSHA Permitted Confined Space Entry (CSE)
• Plug manhole and install contractor-provided bypass pump
• Pull pump #1 and perform CSE to remove #1 guide rail, standpipe, and base
• Set new base, new standpipe, and new guide rail using new guide rail brackets
• Repeat process for other bases, standpipes, and guide rails on the other 3 existing pumps
• Once installed, all components will be tested for functionality to ensure normal operations
