Description

The City of Englewood is seeking a qualified contractor to design and construct comprehensive upgrades to Miller Field, a municipal sports and recreation facility. The scope includes demolition of existing site features, extensive civil work (grading, sub‑base, paving, curbs, gutters), installation of new water, sanitary sewer, and storm‑drainage utilities, erosion‑control measures, electrical service and distribution, lighting for pedestrians and a performance stage, telecommunications, security raceways, fencing, landscaping, irrigation, and site furnishings such as benches, tables, signage, and a splash pad. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, traffic control, permitting, bonding, insurance, and project management required to deliver a fully functional, code‑compliant field and surrounding amenities. • Demolition of trees, benches, existing curbs, retaining walls, fencing, utility poles, and pavement. • Earthwork, sub‑grade preparation, and installation of new asphalt, concrete, and curb‑gutter systems. • Installation of water, sanitary sewer, and storm‑drainage networks (pipes, manholes, inlets, bioretention). • Erosion‑control, riprap, and sediment‑control measures. • Electrical service upgrades, distribution panels, lighting (pedestrian, stage, signage), and security raceways. • Telecom conduit, fiber, and related grounding. • Construction of building sub‑structure and shell (foundations, slab, roofing, insulation). • Landscape planting, irrigation system, and site amenities (signage, benches, tables, arbors, trash receptacles). • Installation of a splash pad, stage lighting, and related performance‑area infrastructure. • Full permitting, bonding, insurance, and compliance documentation.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $15,000,000

The RFP does not disclose a contract value. Based on the extensive list of items—demolition, several thousand square feet of asphalt and concrete paving, new water, sewer, and storm‑drain systems, electrical distribution, lighting, irrigation, landscaping, and site furnishings—a typical municipal field renovation of this magnitude in Colorado often ranges from $5 million to $15 million. The low end assumes modest material costs and minimal design changes; the high end reflects premium finishes, extensive irrigation, and a splash‑pad feature.
