Social Studies Curriculum Adoption

The Des Moines Independent Community School District is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide a high-quality social studies curriculum for K-12 students. The curriculum should align with new Iowa social studies content standards and focus on inquiry, literacy, historical thinking, and required content. The selected firm will be expected to provide digital curriculum platforms, online teacher resources, built-in assessments, and support for multilingual learners and students in special education. • The District has approximately 31,000 students and 5,000 teachers and staff. • The District has 73 sites, including 38 elementary, 11 middle, and 5 high schools. • The selected firm will be expected to provide professional learning and training for teachers. • The contract period will be for one year, with the option to renew for four additional one-year periods.
