Description
The United States Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) is requesting information from industry for the Integrated Head Protection System Generation III (IHPS GEN III). The IHPS GEN III will be a family of helmet systems that provide the end user with several different classes and types of helmet systems/components to fit a specific operational environment. The system will include various components such as shell protection, rail assembly, retention system, suspension system, and hearing protection. The government is seeking white papers to discover existing capabilities, refine the acquisition strategy, and position the Army to acquire innovative helmet solutions.
Key features of the IHPS GEN III include:
• Shell protection with three distinct ballistic performance classes
• Rail assembly with non-powered and powered variants
• Retention system with standard and improved dial lock configurations
• Suspension system with moderate and high threat tiers
• Hearing protection with radio-enabled and non-radio enabled types
• Eyewear with a ballistic visor component
• Mandible with blunt impact and ballistic protection
• Blast overpressure sensor
• Night vision device integration
• Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) defense integration
