Description
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is seeking a qualified contractor to replace the existing generator at the Monte Sano Tower facility in Huntsville. The work is a turnkey replacement that includes removal of the existing 100‑amp, propane‑fueled generator, supply and installation of a new 18‑20 kW propane generator with an automatic transfer switch (ATS), all electrical and fuel‑line connections, testing, and training of ALEA personnel. Bidders must hold an Alabama business license, certified electrician and plumber/gas‑fitter licenses, and provide three commercial references. The bid process requires attendance at a mandatory pre‑bid conference and site visit on June 9 2026, and all questions must be submitted by June 30 2026. Submission of bids closes on July 20 2026.
• Removal of existing generator and disposal of old equipment
• Supply and install new 18‑20 kW propane generator and 100 A ATS (NEMA 1R or 3R)
• Perform all wiring, grounding, and fuel‑line work per industry standards, test system, and provide training
• Work must be performed Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm, and contractor is responsible for permits, site safety, debris removal, and warranty administration.
