Loma Drainage Study RFP

The Town of Los Gatos is seeking a consultant to complete a drainage study for the Loma area. The project involves analyzing and assessing the existing drainage system, evaluating alternative solutions, and developing a recommended solution to a conceptual design level. The consultant will be required to perform field visits, collect data, and develop a hydraulic model of the existing drainage system. The final product should be a written report describing the problem, analyses completed, alternatives evaluated, and a schematic design of the recommended alternative, along with a cost opinion for design and construction. The key tasks include: • Performing field visits to observe current conditions and document results • Obtaining topographic and infrastructure mapping, as well as soils mapping and flood elevations • Meeting with representatives of Valley Water to understand the hydraulics of Ross Creek • Developing a hydraulic model of the existing drainage system and identifying deficiencies • Evaluating alternatives to correct the identified deficiencies and performing proposed conditions hydraulic modeling • Providing concept sketches of each alternative considered and recommending a preferred solution • Developing a schematic design for the recommended long-term solution and providing an estimate of potential cost for design and construction.
