Planning Services - Landscape Inspections

The Village of Schaumburg is seeking a qualified landscape inspector to complete landscape acceptance inspections for land development permits and complete amended landscape plan review. The inspector will be responsible for inspecting landscaping for compliance with approved plans, marking up plans in Bluebeam, generating punch lists, and coordinating inspection results with staff, general contractors, and landscapers. The inspector will also review proposed changes to landscape plans for code compliance and forward recommendations to Village staff. The expected workload is approximately 100 landscape inspections per year, with a minimum of 48-hour advance notice for each inspection. • The inspector must have a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field. • The inspector must have a minimum of five years of experience in landscape design and plant identification. • The inspector must possess a valid driver's license and own transportation. • The inspector must be proficient with current computer software systems, including photography, computer-aided design, and Bluebeam software. • The inspector must have extensive knowledge of plant material, plant identification, and plant design. • The inspector must have strong working knowledge of landscape and subdivision regulations, and zoning ordinances.
