Description
The City of Madison is soliciting construction firms to build the Madison LakeWay – Skyline Improvements along the Lake Monona shoreline. The single‑contract scope includes demolition, grading, utility coordination, installation of concrete boardwalks, a pier, pedestrian‑scale lighting, new sidewalks, bike amenities, extensive landscaping, storm‑water infrastructure, and related site work. The project must be coordinated with the ongoing John Nolen Drive reconstruction and comply with a 5 % bid‑bond, SBE utilization goal, and apprenticeship requirements.
• Full design and specifications are provided in the “Specifications and Plan Sets” (drawings, civil, structural, electrical, signage, and landscape plans).
• Base‑bid engineering estimate is $8.78 M; an optional Skyline Pier alternate is $2.486 M.
• Mandatory SBE compliance reporting, bid‑bond, and performance‑bond filings are required.
• Work is to begin mid‑June 2027 and be substantially completed by 1 July 2028, with liquidated damages of $1,750 per day for late completion.
