Description

The Gilbert Public Schools District is seeking to adopt a comprehensive Science curriculum for junior high school grade levels, serving grades 7th and 8th. The goal is to provide research-based, relevant, and appropriate materials, textbooks, digital resources, and supplemental resources that will effectively support the teaching and learning practices of Arizona's Science Standards through phenomenon-driven, Three-Dimensional (3D) Learning. The district is looking for a curriculum that includes assessments, training, and support for teachers, as well as digital resources and customization options. Some key features of the desired curriculum include: * Assessments that measure mastery of grade-level standards * 3D assessments that require students to integrate all three dimensions to solve problems or explain phenomena * Performance-based tasks that apply learning to new, transfer phenomena * Formative and summative systems, including diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments * Customization options for assessments and instruction * Training and support for teachers, including knowledgeable and capable curriculum deployment/implementation specialists * Digital resources that are interactive and computer-enhanced, not just replications of paper textbooks * Cloud-based options and secure mechanisms for student confidentiality data.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is likely to be in the range of $500,000 to $2 million, based on the scope of work and the number of students and teachers involved. The district is looking for a comprehensive curriculum, which may include textbooks, digital resources, and supplemental materials, as well as training and support for teachers. The cost of such a curriculum can vary widely, but a rough estimate based on industry benchmarks and the district's requirements would suggest a budget in this range.
