6810--Sources Sought Notice and Request For Information | Recurring Bulk Softening/Solar Salt Deliveries | Coatesville VA Medical Center

The Coatesville VA Medical Center is seeking sources for recurring bulk softening/solar salt deliveries. The deliveries will be made on an ongoing basis, with an estimated frequency of twice per month. The contractor will be responsible for verifying site conditions, protecting adjacent structures and equipment, and tracking and providing weight slips of the salt dispensed. The salt must meet specific specifications, including being loose, free of debris and liquid, and at least 99.6% pure sodium chloride solar salt crystals. • The contractor must utilize equipment capable of delivering up to 5 tons of loose salt through a delivery chute into the underground holding tank. • Deliveries must be made Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm Eastern time, and must be scheduled with and approved by the Program Manager. • The contractor shall top off the underground holding tank with salt on an estimated twice per month basis. • The contractor shall track and provide weight slips of the salt dispensed in the underground storage tank, which must be included with each invoice.
