Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Neuro FUS 3D Research System

The Medical University of South Carolina intends to award a sole source contract to Brainbox Ltd. for the purchase of a Neuro FUS 3D research system. The system will be used for research on Parkinson's disease in the Department of Neurology. The sole source justification is based on the exclusive authorization of Brainbox Ltd. as the supplier of the NeuroFUS 3D and the intention of the donor funds to be used for this specific purchase. • The contract amount is $405,885.00. • The purchase is funded by donor funds from Murray and GEB through the Medical University of South Carolina Foundation. • The equipment will be housed in the Brain Stimulation Laboratory and used by both Neurology and Psychiatry research staff. • The NeuroFUS 3D is compatible with existing equipment, allowing research to continue without changes in supplier that could affect the research design.
