Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is hosting a Diabetic Therapeutic Shoe Industry Day Conference to acquire information from contractors with capability and expertise in providing therapeutic shoes for diabetic Veteran patients. The requirement is for Pricing, Data Analysis, and Coding Contractor (PDAC) approved therapeutic footwear medical/surgical supplies for nationwide usage. The Industry Day will focus on the capability, capacity, and viability of private industry to provide therapeutic shoes in a variety of modern styles. Some key requirements include:
• Full length, heel-to-toe filler that provides a minimum of 3/16 inches of additional depth
• Made from leather or other suitable material
• Has some form of shoe closure (no slip-on)
• Available in full and half sizes with a minimum of three widths
• Replacement inserts available for purchase
The objective of the event is to conduct market research and acquire industry information for a potential future solicitation.
