Description
This federally‑funded Airport Improvement Program project will reconstruct Taxiway A, Taxiways A5 & A6, and demolish Taxiway B6 at Weed Airport, including new asphalt pavement, upgraded storm‑drain infrastructure, and electrical/lighting upgrades. The work must be completed within a strict 138‑day schedule (45‑day procurement phase followed by 42‑day construction phases) with no extensions allowed, and the contractor must meet DBE, Davis‑Bacon, Buy‑American, and extensive safety/FAA requirements.
• Demolition of existing asphalt and storm‑drain pipe; earthwork, sub‑grade preparation, and installation of recycled‑asphalt‑aggregate base and hot‑mix‑asphalt surface.
• Installation of new 18‑in. and 24‑in. reinforced‑concrete storm‑drain pipes, catch basins, and associated appurtenances.
• Electrical work including conduit, duct banks, hand‑holes, and runway‑edge reflectors; full pavement marking replacement.
• Mandatory compliance with FAA AC 150/5370‑2G, DBE participation (3 % goal), Davis‑Bacon prevailing‑wage rates, and rigorous construction safety/phasing plan.
