Description
The City of Brockton, Department of Public Works is soliciting bids for the replacement of the Montello Street Water Transmission Main. The project includes the installation of new 20-inch water mains and appurtenances, water service connections, fittings, valves, hydrants, and other necessary work. The contract duration is 150 calendar days, excluding final paving, and the successful bidder must provide a 100% performance bond and payment bond.
• The project requires the replacement of existing water mains within Montello Street between Lawerence Street and Crescent Street.
• The contractor must furnish and install new water service connections, fittings, valves, hydrants, and connections to the existing water system.
• The project includes temporary water, earthwork, dewatering, drainage, pavement replacement, wheelchair ramps, restoration, utility crossing, traffic management, and cleanup.
• The contract time shall commence twenty days following the effective date of the agreement, with a winter shutdown enforced between Thanksgiving and March 31, 2027.
