CONNECTOR,THRU-HULL

The U.S. Navy is seeking a contractor to manufacture and supply a connector, thru-hull, for the SSN 688 Class Vertical Launch System. The connector must meet the requirements specified in Electric Boat (EB) Specification 2982. The contractor must provide a certificate of compliance certifying that the items/components furnished under this contract comply with the requirements of the procurement document. The contractor must also maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001 and provide and maintain a quality system in accordance with the calibration system requirements of ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025. The key requirements of the job include: • Manufacture and design of the connector, thru-hull, in accordance with EB Specification 2982 • First Article Approval (Government Testing) and approval • Material for parts requiring certification, including quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis • Testing certification, including quality conformance/compliance inspection and non-destructive tests • Internal threads must be formed by cutting, and cold forming of internal threads is not acceptable • O-ring grooves and mating sealing surfaces must be inspected per contractually invoked drawings or specifications • Welding or brazing must be in accordance with S9074-AR-GIB-010A/278, 0900-LP-001-7000 for brazing of piping and pressure vessel applications, or S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248 for brazing of other applications
