B--Radiogenic Isotope & Platinum Group Element Analyses

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of a qualified business that can provide radiogenic and platinum group element analyses. The work involves analyzing the genetic origins of magmas and partially melted residuum in Alaska. The contractor laboratory will provide results of isotope and PGE concentration analyses, in addition to matrix-matched standards and replicate results. The key aspects of this opportunity include: • Analyzing radiogenic isotopes (Sr, Nd, Hf, Os) and platinum group elements (PGE) in bulk rock samples and/or powders • Using techniques such as chromatographic purification, ICPMS, and isotope dilution methods • Providing results in an Excel spreadsheet • Meeting the requirements of the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 541380, Testing Laboratories and Services The USGS is seeking a qualified business that can provide these services, and the information resulting from this market research will be used for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy.
