Design Engineering for State Route 26 and Jack Tone Road Roundabout Project

The San Joaquin County Department of Public Works seeks a qualified consulting firm to provide professional and technical engineering services for the design of State Route 26 and the Jack Tone Road roundabout. The consultant will develop project documentation, plans, specifications, and cost estimates in compliance with SJCDPW standards and Caltrans guidance, progressing through a staged design schedule (12‑month preliminary report, 24‑month 65 % design, 30‑month 95 % design, 42‑month right‑of‑way, and 48‑month final PS&E). The contract will be awarded to the highest‑ranking consultant that successfully negotiates a services agreement. • Provide complete civil‑engineering design, including geometric, traffic, and drainage components, for a state highway and roundabout. • Deliver phased design deliverables with strict calendar milestones (up to 48 months total). • Ensure compliance with Caltrans manuals (Project Development Procedures, Plans Preparation, MUTCD, etc.) and prepare cost proposals and certifications. • Submit a technical proposal and accompanying Statement of Qualifications by the August 10 2026 deadline.
