Historic Design Standards Update

The City of Raleigh is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to update and augment the Design Guidelines for Raleigh Historic Districts and Landmarks. The selected firm will be responsible for developing and writing design standards, conducting community engagement, and providing formatted and graphic-rich drafts of the updated design standards. The project aims to make the design standards easier to use for applicants, designers, and staff, and to enhance the character defining elements of each Historic Overlay District. Key deliverables include analysis of the current design standards, community engagement, and formatted drafts of the updated design standards. • The project requires experience in historic preservation, architecture, or a related field • The selected firm will work with a stakeholder group, including the Raleigh Historic Development Commission, property owners, and preservationists • The contract term and payment details will be defined in the contract issued by the City • The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to negotiate with the most qualified firm
