USCGC KUKUI MAIN REDUCTION GEAR INSPECTION

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) is issuing a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Philadelphia Gear for the inspection and repair of the main reduction gear on the USCGC KUKUI. The work includes removing the turning gear assembly, uncoupling the PTO shaft and support, renewing bearings, and performing an axial clearance check. The contractor will also provide and install various parts, including bearing cups, cones, and spiders. The period of performance is scheduled to start on November 11, 2025, and end on December 15, 2025. The work will be performed on the CGC KUKUI, located in Sitka, Alaska. • The contract will be awarded using commercial item procedures pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and 13. • The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 336611 - Ship Building and Repairing. • The Product of Service Code for this requirement is J020. • The contractor must comply with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations. • The contractor must provide state-issued identification numbers, vehicle license plate numbers, and other information for all personnel and vehicles.
