Avionics and Interior Upgrades

Virginia Tech is seeking a qualified Maintenance‑Repair‑Overhaul (MRO) provider to perform a complete avionics modernization and interior refurbishment on a Citation Excel aircraft (tail number N51VT). The work must be executed at an MRO facility within a six‑hour drive of the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, VA, and includes removal of the existing avionics, installation of a full Garmin G5000 suite plus numerous supplemental avionics items, and a comprehensive interior overhaul of cockpit, cabin, lavatory and baggage‑area interiors. Proposals must address technical approach, schedule, staffing, insurance, SWaM participation, and cost. • Install Garmin G5000 avionics suite (including TCAS, CPDLC, TOLD software, etc.) and perform all integration, testing, and documentation. • Refurbish cockpit and cabin interiors: new upholstery, wool carpet, upgraded seat belts, USB charging ports, painted panels, and lavatory upgrades. • Provide a detailed project schedule, downtime estimate, and demonstrate capability to complete work within the specified geographic proximity.
