Notice of Intent to Award to Main Electric for Pole Replacement

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract to Main Electric, LTD for the replacement of thirteen transmission poles. The contractor will perform tasks such as cabinet cutover and install, T-Line maintenance and breaker install, transmission remediation, and other materials as required by the government. The basis for this sole-source award is that Main Electric was identified as the only responsible source capable of meeting the requirement within the required timeframe, having previously performed the initial inspection and developed a comprehensive understanding of the TTC infrastructure. • The contractor will replace Circuit #1 and Circuit #2 transmission poles. • The contractor will perform tasks such as cabinet cutover and install, T-Line maintenance and breaker install, transmission remediation, and other materials as required by the government. • The contract will be awarded in accordance with the procedures of FAR 12 – Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services.
