Description
The purpose of this funding opportunity is to provide continued support for research, education, and outreach on botanical natural products. The goal is to develop and disseminate botanical natural product research with an emphasis on public safety. The cooperative agreement will support the development of a prioritized list of botanical ingredients, acquisition and characterization of reference materials, exchange of technical and scientific information, collaboration with FDA scientists, and coordination of scientific workshops and conferences. Key aspects of the project include:
• Identifying and developing a list of botanical ingredients to prioritize for further research
• Acquiring and characterizing reference materials for evaluation of safety
• Exchanging technical and scientific information with FDA scientists and other stakeholders
• Collaborating with FDA scientists in research areas of mutual interest
• Coordinating scientific workshops and conferences to disseminate botanical ingredient-related topics of public health relevance
