Band Trailer

The Birdville Independent School District (BISD) is soliciting competitive sealed proposals for a band trailer. The total estimated expenditure for this contract is approximately $121,000.00. The trailer specifications include a length of 53 feet, height of 13 feet 6 inches, and a deck length of 138 inches. The trailer will have a fixed suspension type, air ride suspension, and a rear door opening width of 98 inches. The proposal includes detailed specifications for the trailer's understructure, suspension, brakes, wheels, and tires. The contractor will be responsible for delivering the trailer to the BISD. Key features of the trailer include: • Landing gear with two-speed, galvanized, low-profile sand shoes, and bolt-on braces • Understructure with a standard coupler, 4-inch steel I-beam cross sills, and black undercoating • Suspension with air ride suspension and two axles at 20,000 GAWR each • Brakes with 16-1/2 inch x 7 inch brakes, automatic slack adjusters, and ABS • Wheels and tires with steel disc wheels, Michelin XZE 255/70R 22.5 (H) tires, and automatic tire-inflation system • Storage compartments with three storage boxes, each with a different length and height • Walkboard rack with a side rack location, curbside only, and a length of 16 feet 2 inches • Floor with 1-5/16 inch laminated oak hardwood, fill screw holes, sand, and finish with two coats non-ethyl benzene polyurethane • Front with a 5-inch x 5-inch bevel, front corner casting with wire deflectors, and gladhands on the nose only • Sides with extruded aluminum top rail, 14-gauge double-slotted logistic posts, and .050 aluminum prepainted white panels • Rear with a full-swing door, aluminum frame, galvanized hinges, and extra hinge protection • Roof with 16-gauge steel anti-snag bows, translucent skins, and white vinyl lining in side walls and side doors • Electrical and lighting with a 12-volt system, all LED lights, interior lights, marker light package, and rear marker lights
