Armed Uniformed Security Services

Richland School District Two is seeking bids for Armed Uniformed Security Services. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The services will include providing armed security officers to maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. The officers will be required to be trained in the use of walk-through and hand-held metal detection equipment, maintain a professional demeanor, and use reasonable and prudent judgment in situations that may arise. The contractor must have at least five years of experience in providing similar services and must provide references. The contract will be for an initial period with an option to renew for additional one-year periods. • The contractor must provide armed security officers who are licensed by the SC State Law Enforcement Division (SLED). • The officers must be bonded, if required by South Carolina Law. • The officers must possess basic skills common to security officer duties. • The contractor must provide on-the-job training for each specific assignment prior to an officer being allowed to work alone. • The contractor must bear all training costs. • The contractor must provide a minimum of three references where similar services have been performed. • The contractor must provide SLED licensure and/or certification. • The contractor must provide proof of insurance. • The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
