Description

The Town of Marana is seeking bids for the Sanders Road Drainage Improvements project. The project involves enhancing the existing drainage on the east side of Sanders Road from Emigh to Twin Peaks by installing new portions of concrete-lined and rip-rap-lined channel sections. New guardrail will be installed along a portion of the road, and a small strip of pavement adjacent to the drainage channel will be replaced. The project includes the construction of a new 2' thickened edge pavement section, a riprap-lined channel section, and a shotcrete-lined channel section. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining access to all driveways, alleys, and mailboxes during construction and ensuring that emergency vehicles, U.S. postal delivery, solid waste collections, and access to adjacent properties are not restricted. • The project requires the installation of new guardrail with end terminals. • The contractor must construct a concrete cut-off wall at the upstream and downstream terminations of the riprap channel section. • The project involves the removal and relocation of existing utilities, including overhead and underground electric, telephone, television, sewer, gas, and water. • The contractor must protect existing utilities during construction and ensure they remain in place and operational. • The project requires the installation of a 5-strand, T-post barbed wire fence. • The contractor must grade the ditch to allow inflow from existing gullies and install dumped riprap on disturbed areas.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this project is estimated to be between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000, based on the scope of work, which includes the construction of new drainage channels, guardrails, and pavement. The cost of materials, labor, and equipment will likely be high, given the complexity of the project and the need for specialized equipment and expertise. Additionally, the project requires the removal and relocation of existing utilities, which can be a costly and time-consuming process.
