Transformer Service

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from industry sources for a potential contract to provide transformer visual inspection, transformer oil sampling, and oil analyses for all liquid-filled transformers at the NIST facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The goal is to mitigate risks associated with arc flash, component failure, structural fire, and electric shock. The anticipated period of performance is a base year plus four option years. • The contract will require the provider to perform transformer visual inspection and transformer oil testing. • The provider must ensure compliance with applicable U.S. Department of Transportation and other regulations. • The provider must have a safety program in place that applies to the products and services described in the draft Statement of Work (SOW). • The provider must be able to complete the tasks detailed in the SOW. • The provider must indicate whether it can comply with FAR clause 52.219-14, Limitations on Subcontracting (OCT 2022), if the acquisition were to be conducted as a total small business set-aside.
