Description

The project involves the rehabilitation of the Gardner River High Bridge in Yellowstone National Park. The work includes painting the structural steel, rehabilitating the concrete deck approach spans, adding guardrails, and repairing miscellaneous concrete and steel elements. The project is expected to start on January 5, 2026, and be completed by August 31, 2027. The contractor will be allowed to use two existing paved parking areas for material storage and staging within the park. The contractor must ensure that all stormwater controls are properly installed and maintained to prevent pollution. Some key points to consider: • The project requires the contractor to develop a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) prior to submitting a Notice of Intent (NOI) for permit coverage. • The contractor must identify all site operators who will be engaged in construction activities and list subcontractors expected to work on-site. • The contractor must describe the nature of the construction activities, including the size of the property, the total area expected to be disturbed, and the maximum area expected to be disturbed at any one time. • The contractor must provide a list and description of all pollutant-generating activities and indicate for each activity the associated pollutants or pollutant constituents that could be discharged in stormwater from the construction site. • The contractor must describe any construction support activities for the project, such as concrete or asphalt batch plants, equipment staging yards, material storage areas, excavated material disposal areas, and borrow areas.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $15,000,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the scope of work and the location. Since the project involves the rehabilitation of a bridge in a national park, the cost is likely to be significant. Considering the project duration of 19 months, the budget could be in the range of $5 million to $15 million. This estimate takes into account the costs of materials, labor, and equipment required for the project. However, the actual budget may vary depending on various factors, such as the complexity of the work, the number of contractors involved, and the specific requirements of the project.
