Description

The Government Publishing Office (GPO) is seeking a vendor to design, fabricate, and apply metallic‑silver foil‑stamped embossing dies to produce 19,285 custom “Blue Embossed NASA” folders. The work includes sourcing a specific blue linen‑cover stock, creating metal dies for the NASA seal and lettering, performing foil‑stamping and embossing, precise scoring, folding, assembly, and shipping the finished folders to 38 NASA locations nationwide. The contractor must also provide pre‑production samples, manage proof‑approval workflow, and handle all logistics and packaging within a tight production window. • Design and fabricate magnesium dies (foil‑stamping and embossing) – no magnesium dies allowed; must use appropriate metal dies. • Use Neenah Classic Linen Patriot Blue cover stock (JCP spec L23, 80 lb) and produce folders sized 9 × 12 in. after construction. • Deliver 19,285 folders (including 125 “Blue‑Label” copies) to 38 sites by July 17 2026, with each carton ≤ 30 lb and traceable shipping. • Provide one press‑quality PDF proof, four pre‑production samples, and ship dies to NASA HQ; all communications must be same‑day with tracking.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $200,000

No contract value is disclosed. Estimating based on 19,285 folders at an average unit cost of $5‑$10 (including die creation, foil‑stamping, assembly, packaging, and shipping) yields a total contract value in the $100‑$200 k range. Die design and tooling could add a few tens of thousands, while high‑volume production drives the lower end. Therefore a reasonable expected budget is roughly $100,000 to $200,000.
