Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Design and Construction Phase Services for Hazard Mitigation for East River Bridges

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to sole source additional Design and Construction Phase Services for Hazard Mitigation for East River Bridges to Thornton Tomasetti, Inc. The project consists of refreshing existing plans and specifications for the ongoing project involving the East River Bridges, NYC. The required services include taking ownership of an existing design, coordinating the design for approval, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, site visits during construction, answering Requests for Information, and providing technical assistance services. • Take ownership of an existing design at approximately 90% complete and update to current codes. • Coordinate the design for approval. • Review shop drawings and submittals prepared by the General Construction Contractor. • Site visits during construction for meeting attendance and observation of construction work in progress. • Answering Requests for Information submitted by the General Construction Contractor. • Technical assistance services that will provide technical support activities during the construction phase.
