The Hawaii State Department of Health is seeking a community-based organization to provide peer-to-peer support services for families with young children in Oahu's Medically Underserved Areas and Populations. The selected vendor will be responsible for designing and implementing community-based peer support services that strengthen informal support networks for parents and caregivers of young children. The services should be grounded in shared lived experience, mutual support, and community connection, and aligned with preventive, early childhood-focused approaches to family well-being. The vendor will be required to provide location-based peer-led support opportunities, facilitate peer gatherings, and offer informal one-on-one peer connection. The vendor will also be responsible for conducting outreach and engagement efforts, providing training and support to peer facilitators, and maintaining documentation and reporting requirements.
Some key points to consider:
• The vendor must be based in Oahu County and demonstrate an established, trusted presence within the county.
• The vendor must have a minimum of three years of experience supporting families with young children during the birth-to-age-five period.
• The vendor must demonstrate an understanding of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and community-driven peer practices.
• The vendor must have the organizational capacity to manage program operations, fiscal accountability, reporting requirements, and subcontracting or partnerships with neighborhood-based peer groups.
