The Department of the Air Force is seeking industry feedback on the development of a newly designed Advanced Wing Weapons Pylon (AWWP) for the B-52 aircraft. The AWWP must incorporate MIL-STD-1760 series heavy weapon capability and have a capacity of over 5,000 lbs. The anticipated acquisition strategy includes a 36-month Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase, followed by production of 20 to 24 pylons. The key objectives for industry feedback include assessing the feasibility of the proposed EMD timeline, identifying vendors with the necessary engineering expertise, and informing the Government's overall Acquisition Strategy. • The AWWP must have a capacity of over 5,000 lbs. • The EMD phase is expected to last 36 months. • The production phase will require the delivery of 20 to 24 pylons, with a minimum of 12 pylons in the first year. • Small businesses are highly encouraged to participate and respond to this RFI.
