Description
The Department of Developmental Services is seeking a qualified roofing contractor to remove and replace the roofs on three buildings at the Porterville Developmental Center. The work includes complete removal of existing roofing, disposal, installation of a UL‑listed Class A single‑ply PVC membrane, associated insulation, flashing, gutters, and related site work, with a contract duration of 120 working days.
• Approximately 35,000 sq ft of roofing to be replaced across three structures (Buildings #12, #25, and the Fire House).
• Contractor must hold a California C‑39 roofing license, provide a 10 % bid bond, and furnish performance and payment bonds equal to 100 % of the contract price.
• Mandatory site inspection on May 21 2026; bids must be submitted by June 4 2026; work must be finished within 120 working days, with liquidated damages of $150 per day for delays.
• Requirements include DVBE 3 % participation, fingerprinting of all personnel ($49 per person), prevailing‑wage compliance, and extensive safety and environmental safeguards.
