Furman Parkway 24 Inch Water Main Replacement

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) is soliciting bids for the replacement of a 24-inch water main on Furman Parkway. The project involves replacing approximately 987 feet and installing approximately 405 feet of 8-inch DIP water main, replacing approximately 10 feet and installing approximately 22 feet of 10-inch DIP water main, replacing approximately 55 feet and installing approximately 54 feet of 12-inch DIP water main, and replacing approximately 2,343 feet and installing approximately 2,916 feet of 24-inch DIP water main. The project also includes the installation of 18 fire hydrants and 125 water house connections. The contractor must demonstrate experience in large diameter water main installation and meet specific qualifications, including having a safety plan and providing evidence of an OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of less than 2.67 for each of the last three years. • The project is funded by an MDE SRF Loan and is subject to the American Iron and Steel (AIS) Act and the Build American, Buy American (BABA) Act. • The contractor must comply with the Commission's Procurement Regulations and the Maryland Public Information Act. • The project has a time for substantial completion of 605 days, and the contractor will be paid on the basis of the per-unit cost of the work item based on work performed and accepted by the Contract Manager. • The contractor must provide proof of Commercially Useful Function and meet specific requirements for minority business enterprise (MBE) and small local business enterprise (SLBE) participation.
