Rotational Rheometer System

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is seeking a Rotational Rheometer System to replace aging equipment and support advanced bioprocessing research and development activities. The system must meet specific technical requirements, including having a frictionless brushless DC servo air bearing motor, a torque/force rebalance transducer, and a Peltier-controlled temperature system. The system should also be able to perform various types of measurements, such as steady shear, oscillatory rheological, and transient testing. The FDA requires a turn-key system, including all necessary hardware, software, and training, and the contractor must provide a minimum one-year comprehensive warranty. Some key features of the required system include: • High-precision stepper motor and encoder system for independent measurement of gap travel • Interchangeable geometries, including parallel plate, cone-and-plate, and concentric cylinder configurations • Advanced testing modes, including constant stress, constant strain, or constant rate testing • High-speed data acquisition capability • Advanced data analysis tools, including Fourier transform and higher harmonic analysis The contractor must also provide installation, operational training, and technical support.
